| Who we are |
Caitlin McKenna
Caitlin has been a creative entity in popular culture in a variety of guises (from journalism through to professional singing) for the past 20 years. Her
1:1 degree in Sociology and Anthropology and chameleonlike character allow her to be absorbed into a diversity of cultures and contexts, where her natural intuition navigates her through the consumers' minds and cultures, offering authentic understanding and empathy with the what, when, why and where of ‘Consumer World’. Caitlin’s passions are Blue Sky thinking, pushing the boundaries and laughing. And if the laughter doesn’t grab your attention, the hair certainly will. |
Chris Jones
Chris has been involved in applied creativity - architecture, advertising
and research - since 1982 and is the eternal pragmatist.
Consequently, he has a near pathological aversion to overcomplication
and artifice. Show him a complex situation and he will
break it down into readily understandable chunks. Show him
something that doesn't stand up intellectually, and he will knock it
down. Some might call him blunt, he is a Yorkshireman, after all, but
his honesty and humour usually help win the day. He moved into
research from advertising in 1995 and set up Chris Jones Associates
1997. After a brief sanity break in Spain, where he owned and ran a
car rental company, Chris returned to set up McKenna Jones in 2006
with Caitlin. When time allows, there's nothing he loves more than
long strolls across rolling British countryside or the films of the Coen
Brothers. |
Clare Rigby
Clare is an expert in the field of High Street retail. At 16, she began, literally, on the shop floor, and even when elevated to the levels of Head of Retail and Head of Business Development for the likes of Hackett, Liberty and Hobbs, she never lost that ability to understand and inspire the retail brand’s most important asset – its people. Her inquisitive nature ensures that no stone is left unturned and her motto is 'just because it has always been done that way does not mean it is right' - even when there are entrenched views, her high degree of empathy and persuasive personality will ensure that people are open to change (for the better). In her spare time Clare wanders the forests of Hampshire attempting to keep her dog from chasing wildlife (apparently he is immune to her persuasive powers).

Bee Laird
Having achieved a 1:1 in psychology, a Masters in Experimental Methodology, a PhD in understanding human emotion, and a promising start to her career in medical research assessing post-op transsexuals, it would be normal to assume that a life in academe would beckon. However, Dr. Laird (Bee to those who know her) chose life instead - specifically the bright lights and nights of Sydney and a spell pouring schooners for her Double Bay locals (when she wasn't kept busy by patients on the stroke unit). On returning to the UK, Bee fully entered the world of pharmaceutical market research, and for the last 6 years has worked on international projects for the likes of Pfizer, GSK, Wyeth and AZ, and the Department of Health (to published in the Journal of Mental Health, 2008). Relaxation for the Doc comes in the form of hustling the denizens of Camden's pool halls (attaining, in the process, a near legendary league reputation), windy walks along Brighton beach chasing after her two children and an almost fanatical devotion to Malborough's Sauvignon blancs. |
Angus Ferguson
Over the years, Angus has accumulated a unique creative and interpersonal toolbox. After leaving university, he spent 10 years working with cutting edge artists in the music business, in a variety of roles from innovative sound mixing to international marketing. This was followed with a decade as a motivational coach and workshop facilitator, specialising in bringing enhanced communication skills to people of all backgrounds and cultures. His ability to cut through superficial projection and identify the underlying truths is second to none. He is passionate about creativity itself, whether expressed in the form of on-the-fly problem solving and lateral thinking, or producing new ideas on a blank canvas. In his spare time, Angus enjoys composing experimental music. |
